We are looking for a candidate who is interested in a long-term career in financial services. The entry stage is aimed at graduates, but we welcome all applicants who have an interest in starting a structured career path in the industry.
Irrespective of whether you have a degree relevant to the industry, you will initially join us as a Trainee Client Administrator. This is to ensure that you have a good understanding of how Herbert Scott operates from the ground upwards. Once mastered, you will then progress either directly to a Level 4 Paraplanner Apprenticeship (if you have a relevant degree), or firstly to a Level 3 Financial Services Administration Apprenticeship followed by a Level 4 Paraplanner Apprenticeship. Ultimately, the aim is for you to be employed as a Trainee Paraplanner.
The apprenticeships combine professional exams and on-the-job learning, to develop your technical and practical skills.
As a Trainee Client Administrator, you will initially be learning the skills required in administration such as managing client data and supporting the Operations Department to deliver a professional and friendly client service.
As you become more proficient in the administrative tasks, you will start to work more closely with our existing team of paraplanners. You will also have more client interaction by attending client meetings and working with our highly qualified Financial Planners to deliver technically accurate and well-written advice letters and reports.
If you would like to progress to becoming a Financial Planner, we will aim to support you on this journey. All training and exam support will be provided by our team.
Progression is dependent on the candidate’s abilities, so it may be possible to complete stages quicker than outlined.
