Paraplanner

We are looking for a Paraplanner, which internally we call a Financial Planning Assistant (FPA) to join our team and provide day-to-day support to the Financial Planners. The Financial Planning Assistant role is a unique client-focused role supporting the Financial Planner to deliver our client service commitment by following the client engagement and ongoing service processes.  The FPA role differs from the traditional Paraplanner roles, as the FPA attends the client meetings and works alongside the Financial Planner to develop the best client outcomes.

The ideal candidate would already have or be working towards their Diploma in Financial Planning and is confident in writing technically accurate and well-structured letters and reports.  

Job Description 

  • Gain an understanding of the client’s circumstances, objectives, and risk tolerance to ensure advice is appropriate
  • Analyse and fully understand details of the client’s existing policies, pensions, and investments
  • Build and understand the client’s long-term financial plan including cash flow and future wealth expectations
  • Identify new business opportunities and areas for financial planning and develop solutions to meet client needs and objectives
  • Organise the production of key features, illustrations and quotations necessary to support advice given
  • Prepare detailed, technically accurate and compliant financial planning and suitability reports
  • Prepare for review meetings by discussing agenda with financial planner and updating planning software for presentation to the client
  • Ensure fact finds, client questionnaires and meeting notes fully support the advice given and compliance paperwork is present and correct
  • Assist with the accurate completion of application and proposal forms, when necessary
  • Act as the main point of contact for technical queries from clients
  • Liaise with client’s legal and tax advisers when necessary
  • Work closely with other Paraplanners and Financial Planning Assistants to share ideas and best practice
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all products and services in the financial planning marketplace
  • Undertake appropriate professional development and training
  • Anything else reasonably requested by the Directors
