On the 15th December, Herbert Scott went for an extravagant three course meal at the gorgeous Gravetye Manor in West Sussex for our company Christmas lunch. When we first arrived, we were greeted by two lovely young gentlemen waiting eagerly to welcome us and escort us inside, taking our coats and taking us to our private bar area where we enjoyed champagne and light refreshments.
We were then shown to our private dining room, where personalised menus and decorative name cards had been made and placed specifically for us. The meal started with us being offered a basket full of different breads and rolls to pair with our opening course of ‘Crown Prince Velouté with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds’.
We had each chosen a starter, main and dessert from the menu before we had arrived, which were all outstanding with an extravagant array of flavours and textures. These included, lobster and mackerel to start, pheasant and lamb for main and cheeses for dessert. To top it all off, throughout our meal we were all offered a range of both red and white wine to compliment the current course, which all tasted divine.
After we had all finished, we were escorted back into the private bar area, where the log fire was burning, for a round of teas and coffees, complimented by delicately designed mince pies.
Herbert Scott’s experience at the manor was outstanding; the service was remarkable and the food was to die for – not to mention the beautiful gardens and scenery surrounding us. It’s no wonder that they’ve received a well-deserved Michelin Star! It’s a 10 out of 10 from Herbert Scott and all its employees, we would definitely be more than glad to dine with them again!
