What does Chartered mean?

At Herbert Scott we are proud to be Chartered Financial Planners.  But what does it mean?

Competence? Technical Knowledge? Ethical behaviour? – All of the above are precisely the qualities embodied by ‘Chartered’ status.

We have two Chartered Financial Planners, David & Kevin and our Investment Director, Tracey Payne is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).

In addition we encourage our support staff to aim towards this status. Bertrand, one of our paraplanners, has already reached  Chartered status, and Ben and Hannah, are working towards theirs.

Our team of administrators are also actively studying and taking exams towards their financial administration qualifications.

Herbert Scott has also been awarded corporate Chartered Financial Planner status. This is granted on the basis of an organisation’s commitment to meet significant and ongoing obligations designed to ensure that its employees are competent, knowledgeable and ethical in their dealings.

Chartered status is currently met by fewer than 500 firms in the country and we  are happy to be among them.

If you would like further information regarding Chartered status and why you should choose to work with a Chartered Financial Planner the Chartered Insurance Insititue have produced a short video which can be found by clicking here.
