We’re delighted to share some exciting news from the recent annual dinner for the Sussex branch of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Our very own Daniel Brooks was presented with the Rising Star award! This award recognises and applauds the outstanding achievements of ‘rising stars’ within the local Financial Services and Insurance professions.
The annual dinner was held at The Grand Hotel in Brighton and was a roaring success with nearly 300 people attending. The Institute was supporting the Children with Cancer Fund and The Insurance Charity and raised an impressive sum for the two causes.
Speaking about the night, Daniel said:
“The annual dinner was an incredible evening, which provided a great opportunity to meet many people in the profession, and some great entertainment with a live band and casino tables.
There were also several wonderful speeches from some of our distinguished colleagues, not least from the Chartered Insurance Institute President Darren Pollard, who spoke about the importance of prioritising mental health, both at work and at home.
I was genuinely surprised to have been chosen for the ‘Rising Star’ award, as I was inspired by the other two nominees on the shortlist, who were both thoroughly deserving of their recognition and undoubtedly have bright futures ahead. It was an honour to be recognised, but mostly I am grateful to the team at Herbert Scott for the support, encouragement and opportunities I’ve had since joining the company in 2022, and for putting me forward me for consideration.”
Hannah Bibby shared why she felt Daniel deserved the recognition:
“I nominated Daniel in recognition of the dedication he has shown while studying for his exams and the vital support he has provided the business during maternity‑leave cover. His efforts stand out, but they also reflect the strength and dedication we see across the entire team.”
