Saturday 7th August saw the return of Proms in the Paddock – a unique and hugely popular event that is brought to Lewes each summer by Commercial Square Bonfire Society.
Despite the best efforts of the British weather to dampen spirits, the event was a great success with the grand finale, provided by the Lewes Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band, together with fireworks rounding off a very enjoyable evening.
As a principal sponsor of the event, we took the opportunity to run a raffle with all proceeds going to our chosen charity, the children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and stopped by to say hello. Thanks also to the local businesses who helped provide the excellent prizes – Albourne Estate Vineyard, Cheese Please, Freight, Riverside Flowers, Robinson’s of Lewes, and The Laurels.
