Proms in the Paddock is a unique and hugely popular event that is brought to Lewes each summer by Commercial Square Bonfire Society. It takes place on Saturday 3rd August 2019 in ‘The Paddock’, a long-established playing field in the heart of Lewes, surrounded by beautiful trees and overlooked by Lewes’ historic castle.
We welcome the opportunity to give something back to the local community that supports us. We are proud therefore to be a co-presenter of Proms in the Paddock and hope our financial commitment helps provide a community-based event that can be enjoyed by all.
Gates open at 3pm when you will be able to find the ideal spot in the Paddock to set out your chairs and picnic rugs. From 4pm you will be entertained by a great musical line up, including Jumping Jacks, a fabulous jive and vintage blues band and Crimson Six, vibrant young musicians with a repertoire of uplifting, party favourites. There will be a grand finale by the Lewes Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band together with fireworks.
There is plenty to do before the music starts and during the intervals. Commercial Square Bonfire Society run an excellent bar where you will be able to stock up with Harveys, Cider, Pimms and a range of wines and spirits. There will be a BBQ. Tea and coffee will also be available along with a great selection of cakes.
