Strengthening Our Leadership Team for the Future

At Herbert Scott, we are proud of how our firm has evolved – not only in size, but in the strength, expertise and dedication of our people. To ensure we continue to deliver the clarity, independence, and trust our clients value, we have refined our management structure to reflect both our current position and our future direction.

At his leaving celebration (not a retirement party, as he preferred to call it), David Herbert shared a fitting analogy: Herbert Scott is like a bus and David had reached his bus stop, but the business will continue along its journey, even as the drivers change over time. While my own stop is still some way ahead, I recognise the importance of sharing the wheel and helping to map out the route for the next stage of our journey.

No one leads alone, and I am committed to empowering our talented team to take on greater responsibility in their areas of strength, while continuing to focus my own efforts where I can add the greatest value supporting our clients and guiding the strategic vision of the firm.

A new chapter under Tracey Payne’s leadership

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey Payne as Managing Director of Herbert Scott. This change will enable me to focus on the strategic leadership and direction of the firm, ensuring that our values and long-term vision remain at the heart of everything we do.

Tracey has been an integral part of Herbert Scott since January 2013, serving as our Investment Director and a Certified Financial Planner. Over the past twelve years, she has played a key role in shaping our investment philosophy and providing exceptional advice to our clients. In her expanded role, Tracey will continue to lead with the professionalism, integrity, and client focus that have long defined her contribution to the firm.

Welcoming a new Director to the team

We are also delighted to announce that Hannah Bibby has been appointed Compliance Director. Many clients will already know Hannah through her long-standing role as Practice Manager, where she has been instrumental in supporting all aspects of the business.

Having worked closely with David in the past and, more recently, with myself, Hannah has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a deep understanding of our firm’s values. In her new role, she will oversee our compliance framework, ensuring that our high standards of integrity and professionalism continue to underpin every aspect of our work.

Enhancing leadership to support our clients

Reflecting on the new structure, Tracey commented:

“This marks an important chapter for Herbert Scott. Our business has always been about people first, our clients, our team, and our partners. By bringing Hannah and myself in to take on some of Kevin’s responsibilities, we are able to combine fresh energy with deep experience. This evolution strengthens our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality service while staying true to our core values of clarity, integrity, and excellence.”

Looking ahead

Financial planning is about building confidence in the future — for our clients and for our firm alike. With a strengthened management team that combines experience, fresh perspectives, and shared values, Herbert Scott is well positioned to continue delivering trusted advice and outstanding service for many years to come.
