Alicia joined Herbert Scott in January 2020 as their Technical Manager, heading up the team of Financial Planning Assistants (FPAs) and supporting the Financial Planners with client reports and recommendations. As part of the wider growth and development of the firm, Alicia has since transitioned into the exciting and rewarding role of Financial Planner.
Alicia acquired Chartered Financial Planner status in June 2019 and has over 13 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector, having previously worked at St. James’s Place and Just Group, formerly JRP Group plc. She qualified to give Financial Advice in 2016, having gained Diploma status with The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), however opted to remain in a specialised support function where she could build upon her knowledge of the industry.
Through the combination of industry qualifications and gaining a broad exposure to all areas of financial planning and products, Alicia moved quickly up through the ranks of administration, into Paraplanning, and then Management, becoming a specialist in the technical aspects of Financial Planning. Having now transitioned into a Financial Planning role, she hopes to be able to use her experience to help clients manage their financial affairs and work towards their long-term financial goals.
Having studied English at the University of Birmingham and leaving with a 1st class BA Hons degree, Alicia has retained a passion for literature. As well as reading, Alicia’s time outside of work is mainly spent with her family. Alicia lives in Brighton with her husband, Daniel, and son, Charlie, aged 2.
