Announcing the Herbert Scott Charity of The Year – Chestnut Tree House

Herbert Scott are delighted to announce that Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice has been chosen as our Charity of the Year for 2014/15.

Chestnut Tree House

Based near Arundel, Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice covering East and West Sussex, as well as parts of Hampshire, to support children and young adults of all ages up to 25 with progressive, life limiting conditions.  Currently they are providing respite and on-going care for around 300 children and their families, including 4 children from our home town of Lewes.

Tracey Payne, Herbert Scott’s investment director said, “Many things about Chestnut Tree House appealed to me and, I would say, touched my heart.  A case in point being that there are no rules about how a child should be cared for.  Each is treated very much as an individual with their own needs and wishes being listen to.  We are told that one child brought their pet gerbils to stay for a weekend!”

Throughout the year, the staff at Herbert Scott are planning numerous activities to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause.  Simple ideas such as cake sales to more extreme measures such as jumping out of planes are being talked about.  “We will keep you Multi Sensoryinformed via our website of the fund raising activities taking place.”
