Exam Success!

At Herbert Scott, we encourage all staff to develop their professional knowledge and expertise. Whilst we all continually stay up to date with legislative and industry changes through reading and in house training, it is important to accompany this learning with professional exams.

The most common ‘exam’ route, is via the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the Personal Finance Society (PFS), who offer approximately 40 exams across many areas of financial services, including pensions, investments, mortgages and protection. Each exam gains you a number of credits depending on its difficulty and the accumulation of these credits, gains you different awards and qualifications, with the ultimate designation being a ‘Chartered Financial Planner’.

In the last few months, several of our employees have passed numerous exams…..

Jodie Richards and Angela Honey have passed R01 which covers Financial Services, Regulations and Ethics.

Jodie Richards who completed her Apprenticeship with Herbert Scott, is keen to continue her professional qualifications and is studying for her Certificate in Financial Services. She is now one step closer to achieving her goal having passed two of the three exams required.

Two of our paraplanners, Bertrand Pole and Hannah Bibby, passed R08, the pensions update module. This module was introduced following the recent pension legislation changes over the preceding few years and so is key to the continual development of our team and their knowledge.

These exams require a lot of study time at home, during their weekends and evenings, so we would like to congratulate them on their success and Kevin and I will continue to support all our staff with their ongoing professional development.
