Continuing our wish to support the local community, Herbert Scott recently sponsored an exhilarating evening in Lewes Town Hall with the East Sussex Community Choir. Haydn’s Creation – widely regarded as Joseph Haydn’s greatest masterpiece – uses dramatic musical storytelling to recount the creation of the world in seven days, using texts from the Book of Genesis, the psalms and Milton’s Paradise Lost set to a thrilling score.
As well as sponsoring the event, we organised a free Prize Draw for all attending, with prizes including vouchers for Glyndebourne Opera House, Rathfinny Vineyard and Fork Restaurant. The three lucky winners, along with the Choir’s musical director, Nicholas Houghton, joined us for a celebratory glass of fizz on the Herbert Scott terrace to receive their prizes.
East Sussex Community Choir is a large, thriving, friendly, no-audition choir singing classical music. It is open to all. If you are interested in joining please click here to visit the Choir’s website.
