The Rotary Club of Lewes organises an annual Skittles event that has been going on for decades. It takes place at Grange Gardens, Lewes, and runs over five days from Monday to Friday, culminating in Final’s Night on Friday. It is a great community event and 128 local teams took part this year. All money raised enables The Rotary Club to support charities and local people in need. Herbert Scott also sponsors this long-standing community event.
On the evening of Tuesday 18th June 2024, five members of Herbert Scott and Tracey’s son, Oli, made up the company’s competitive Skittles team. We had an enjoyable evening trying to knock all 9 pins down with the three balls in play. We got a few strikes and some of the team even knocked down a few pins in the alleys next to ours! Even though the weather decided to take a turn, resulting in us needing to take shelter in the trees for the last half of our second game, it didn’t dampen our spirits.
Sadly, our score wasn’t high enough to return for the finals on Friday, but the event raised an amazing sum of approximately £8,000 for The Rotary Club’s chosen charities and local people in need.
Well done Team.
