Great South Run

At Herbert Scott we are pleased to be supporting the wonderful work at Chestnut Tree House by taking part in fund raising events throughout the year.  A few Sunday’s ago, Tracey Payne and I took part in the Great South Run to raise some much needed sponsorship.  Despite the concerns we both had about getting round the 10 mile course, we lined up with the other 25,000 or so starters knowing we were ready to do our best for such a worthwhile cause.

We had already received pledges valued at over £400 and, with that Great South Runin our minds, started the run around the old dock yards of Portsmouth.  Passing a poor runner receiving first aid treatment around mile 7 made us feel grateful that one foot was still going in front of the other.  With the finishing line was just beyond Southsea Pier, the last mile or so was a slog against the wind.  But we finished and we are very pleased to confirm that so far we have received over £500 for Chestnut Tree House.

We would like to thank all the generous people who have sponsored us and if you haven’t, but would like to, our Just Giving page is still active – please click here.
