On Thursday 11 December, 8 of us donned Santa Suits in order to raise vital funds for Chestnut Tree children’s hospice.
The company have chosen Chestnut Tree as our charity of the year for 2014/15 and so far we have raised over £1,000 by taking part in various events, including the BUPA Great South Run. “Wear a Santa Suit Day looked like a fun way to raise even more for this important local charity so we were really keen to take part” said Kevin Scott.
We all started the day feeling a little bit self-conscious, especially those of us turning heads as we attended school runs, nativity plays and even the doctor’s surgery before work. But as the day wore on the Santa suits started to “suit” us that little bit more, to the point where we were happy to brave the lunchtime crowds in the streets of Lewes.
Tracey Luker, Head of Appeals for East Sussex at Chestnut Tree said “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Herbert Scott for their support of Chestnut Tree House. It costs over £3 million every year to provide all of our services, both at the house and out in the community, and we receive less than 8% of our funding from central government so we rely heavily on the generosity of the local community.”

We will taking part in more event during 2015 so watch this space!
